Aged 16 - 25?

At a loose end in Summer 2008?

The Youth Programme of G.V.R.T. are offering a number of opportunities all designed to help you develop your self confidence, meet new people and gain experiences to help drive your personality forward.

· Volunteer Programme

Participants will be supported to explore different types of work and settings through a series of six different placements:

̃ T.R.E.E (Timber Recycling Eco Enterprise)

̃ Colin Glen Forest Park

̃ City and Royal Hospitals

̃ FOLD Housing

̃ Community Groups in the area

̃ Habitat for Humanity

 

· NIOCN Education for Peace

This course offers 18 - 25 year olds the chance to:

̃ Build trust and relationships through social activities, debates and a residential;

̃ Identify issues which concern group members as Northern Irish citizens

̃ Understand Identity, tradition, culture and citizenship;

̃ Human Rights and Equality;

̃ Judge prejudice, sectarianism and racism;

̃ Have their place in conflict transformation

̃ Understand, develop and practice Community Relations Work;  reflect on practice

̃ Explore political diversity by visiting Democratic institutions e.g. Stormont; and

̃ Contribute to reconciliation and peace building in Northern Ireland.
